The Annual Chiropractic Symposium on Nutrition is an opportunity to get ahead of the latest innovations in nutrition research. It's dedicated to the continuing education of the chiropractic physician as it relates to clinical nutrition. It also provides an opportunity for chiropractic students and practitioners alike to engage in dialogue with nationally-known speakers in the field of clinical nutrition.

The conference theme for 2020 is The Effect of Nutritional Genomics on Spinal Neurology and at least 16-hours of CEUs will be offered. There will also be amazing breakout sessions (with no CEUs, but very much in demand).

Dr. Robert Boyd ND, CNS® will be presenting, Another Piece to the Puzzle: How Nutritional Genomics Can Inform Clinical Decision Making in Neurological Disease.

This important piece of the clinical picture should not be overlooked, especially when routine testing can identify these SNPs and inform clinical decisions in neurological cases.We will review how SNPs affect neurotrophin protein functions and their implications in common neurological, inflammatory and neurodegenerative disorders plus the available testing options and how genomic analysis tools can help to identify and provide actionable recommendations. These therapeutic agents, which consist of nutrients, vitamins, herbs, dietary and lifestyle interventions, can serve to enhance clinical outcomes through improvement in neurotrophin transcription and function. In combination with a proper medical, family and social history, nutritional genomics should be thought of as another piece to the puzzle that can shed light on pathogenesis and potential therapeutics.
